Sunday - Boy's & Girl's 11 - 14 & 10 & Under Divisions

Registration and check-in begins at 5:30 a.m.

Competition begins at 6:30 a.m.

These fun-filled days of surfing are open to girls and boys age 14 and under.

RULES:

Only the 7 & under "Push-In” Division may be assisted by an adult. Surfers can ride any length board they choose. Judging criteria is based on wave selection, length or ride, ability & having fun.

Saturday - “Groms Rule®" - Pre-registration online by Friday, July 18th, 11:59pm, $60. Event Day registration is $70.  Entry also includes commemorative San Clemente Ocean Festival event tee and competitor’s kit from sponsors.

San Clemente Ocean Festival commemorative medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each age group.

Junior lifeguards compete for medals in the San Clemente Ocean Festival Jr. Lifeguard Competition. Open to boys and girls with ocean experience ages 9 through 17. Entrants can compete in Beach Flags, Surf Race (swim), Run-Swim-Run and Paddleboard Sprint Race.

Event #2: Surf Race

Event #7: Run-Swim-Run

Event #10: Paddleboard Sprint

ENTRY INFO:

Open to the public, registration begins at 7:00 a.m. North side of the San Clemente Pier. Ages 9 through 17. Pre-registration online by Friday, July 18th, 11:59pm, $35. Event Day Registration is $45. Entry also includes commemorative San Clemente Ocean Festival event tee and competitor’s kit from sponsors.

FORMAT & RULES:

*Beach Flags - Single Elimination

*Surf Race - Swim race out & back through surf line approximately 300 yards

*Run-Swim-Run – Entrants run 100 yards, swim 200 yards and then run 100 yards to the finish line.

*Paddleboard Sprint Race - Race boards must measure 10'6" and under. SCOF or SC Marine Safety does not provide race boards. Participants must provide their own boards.

San Clemente Ocean Festival commemorative medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each age group.

9:00 a.m.  //  Ages 4 – 6 (½ mile course)

9:20 a.m.  //  Ages 7 – 9 (¾ mile course)

9:40 a.m.  //  Ages 10 – 12 (1 mile course)

Where there is sand and surfing, you are likely to see Woody cars. In the 1960’s surfers found the roomy old Woody station wagons a convenient way to take their longboards to the ocean in search of the “perfect wave."

Watch for these incredible vehicles parading down from Ave. Del Mar and onto the pier both mornings. There will be a different set of 15 each day in a wide variety of colors and styles to see!

Teams of up to 10 people each (20 spaces available) can compete in the following categories: Castles and Things, Creatures, Family or Open on Sunday. Grab your friends, family, co-workers & club members and come to the beach on Sunday. Let us see what you can do!

For those of you who would like to view the event from a different angle we have the Ocean Art Show in Parque Del Mar (the grassy area below the parking lots, north of the tunnel entrance to the beach).

You’ll find all sorts of ocean and beach related art – landscapes and beachscapes; original oils, watercolors and giclees; photography, ceramics, quilts, jewelry, pillows and hand-crafted soaps, plus all different kinds of artisan crafted pieces that make great gifts or additions to your own home!
