Lifeguard Competition
Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
California lifesavers and ocean athletes compete for overall points and prize money in the San Clemente Ocean Festival Lifeguard Competition. Racers score points 1st through 9th in each event and relays. Participants can enter as many events as they want. SCOF will score all racers events.

ENTRY INFO:
Open to the public, registration begins at 7:00 a.m. North side of the San Clemente Pier. All ages permitted. Pre-registration online by TBD, $50 for the Day (you may enter as many event as you like) Event Day Registration is $60. Entry also includes commemorative San Clemente Ocean Festival event tee and competitor’s kit from sponsors.
FORMAT & RULES:
No wetsuits allowed in swim events. The NDA races, Rescue Relay and Paddleboard Rescue Relay races are worth double points and will be split evenly amongst two person teams. Dory Events OPEN to both men’s & women’s teams. Both National Doryman’s Association (NDA) Events 1 & 2 will be run as one heat. For Event Rules & Courses Manual, please check back by June 15th!

Junior Lifeguard Competition

Junior lifeguards compete for medals in the San Clemente Ocean Festival Jr. Lifeguard Competition. Open to boys and girls with ocean experience ages 9 through 17. Entrants can compete in Beach Flags, Surf Race (swim), Rescue Relay (two person team event) and Paddleboard Sprint Race.

Beach Flags - Single Elimination
Surf Race - Swim race out & back through Surfline approximately 300 yards
Rescue Relay - Two person teams with rescue buoy (rescue buoy provided) race out & back through surfline. Rescue swimmer can use fins.
Paddleboard Sprint Race - Race boards must measure 10'6" and under

Annual Dolphin Dash
Saturday, (Check-In & Registration) 7:30 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.

For Kids ages 12 and under.
HOW TO ENTER:
Pre-registration online for $25 by TBD Space is limited!
Event Day Registration is $30 and SUBJECT TO SPACE AVAILABILITY. Registration fee includes a commemorative Ocean Festival tee shirt and goodie bag. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
AWARDS:
All participants will receive a finisher’s medal.

These fun filled day of surfing is open to girls and boys age 14 and under.
RULES:
Only the 7 & under "Push-In” Division may be assisted by an adult. Surfers can ride any length board they choose. Judging criteria is based on wave selection, length or ride, ability & having fun.

5K Beach Run/Walk

The Ocean Festival 5K Beach Run/Walk is the only event of its kind in Southern California. Participants get a chance to run or walk at the water’s edge along San Clemente’s famous golden shores. Plus, a commemorative San Clemente Ocean Festival event tee and competitor's kit from sponsors.

NEW! Tandem Boogie Bodyboarding Contest

Save the dates and start training with your Tandem Boogie partner for the Tandem Boogie Bodyboard Contest at the San Clemente Ocean Festival.
The first day of the San Clemente Ocean Festival will include Tandem Boogie Bodyboarding Clinics with solo and Tandem Boogie bodyboards.
Day two of the San Clemente Ocean Festival will feature three heats of Tandem Boogie Teams competing for a chance to make the Finals. The top six teams of two will advance to the Tandem Boogie finals for a chance to show off their teamwork as the Ocean Festival Final Event. The top three teams take home a medal.
