HOW TO ENTER:

Pre-registration online by Friday July 15 th , 11:59pm, $25. Event Day registration is $30. (SUBJECT TO SPACE AVAILABILITY) Entry also includes commemorative San Clemente Ocean Festival event tee and competitor’s kit from sponsors.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. 

AWARDS:

DIVISIONS:

9:00 a.m.  //  Ages 4 – 6 (½ mile course)

9:20 a.m.  //  Ages 7 – 9 (¾ mile course)

9:40 a.m.  //  Ages 10 – 12 (1 mile course)

Junior lifeguards compete for medals in the San Clemente Ocean Festival Jr. Lifeguard Competition.  Open to boys and girls with ocean experience ages 9 through 17. Entrants can compete in Beach Flags, Surf Race (swim), Run-Swim-Run and Paddleboard Sprint Race.

ENTRY INFO:

Open to the public, registration begins at 7:00 a.m. North side of the San Clemente Pier. Ages 9 through 17. Pre-registration online by Friday, July 15th, 11:59pm , $30.  Event Day Registration is $40. Entry also includes commemorative San Clemente Ocean Festival event tee and competitor’s kit from sponsors.

FORMAT & RULES:

*Beach Flags - Single Elimination

*Surf Race - Swim race out & back through surf line approximately 300 yards

*Run-Swim-Run – Entrants run 100 yards, swim 200yards and then run 100 yards to the finish line.

*Paddleboard Sprint Race - Race boards must measure 10'6" and under

AWARDS/PRIZE MONEY:
San Clemente Ocean Festival commemorative medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each age group.

California lifesavers and ocean athletes compete for overall points and prize money in the San Clemente Ocean Festival Lifeguard Competition. Racers score points 1st through 9th in each event and relays. Participants can enter as many events as they want. SCOF will score all racers events.

Pre-registration online by Friday, July 15th, 11:59pm, $60 (you may enter unlimited lifeguard events). Event Day Registration is $75. Entry also includes commemorative San Clemente Ocean Festival event tee and competitor’s kit from sponsors.

FORMAT & RULES:

No wetsuits allowed in swim events. The NDA races, Rescue Relay and Paddleboard Rescue Relay races are worth double points and will be split evenly amongst two person teams. Dory Events OPEN to both men’s & women’s teams. Both National Doryman’s Association (NDA) Events 1 & 2 will be run as one heat.

These fun-filled days of surfing are open to girls and boys age 14 and under.

RULES:

Only the 7 & under "Push-In” Division may be assisted by an adult. Surfers can ride any length board they choose. Judging criteria is based on wave selection, length or ride, ability & having fun.

The Ocean Festival 5K Beach Run/Walk is the only event of its kind in Southern California. Participants get a chance to run or walk at the water’s edge along San Clemente’s famous golden shores. Plus, a commemorative San Clemente Ocean Festival event tee and competitor's kit from sponsors.
