LIFEGUARD COMPETITION – DAY 1
California lifesavers and ocean athletes compete for overall points and prize money in the San Clemente Ocean Festival Lifeguard Competition.
Racers will compete in the following events: Surf Race (short ocean swim), 10’6” Paddleboard Sprint, Rescue Relay (2 person, rescue can and fins), Surf Ski Race, International & American Ironman races, Paddleboard Rescue Relay (2 person, 10’6”) and the ever-popular thrills and spills of the National Doryman’s Association races.
The event will take place on the North side of the San Clemente Pier Saturday July 16 scheduled to start at 9:00a.m.
FORMAT & RULES:
Men & women division is Open only.
Racers score points 1st through 10th in each event and relays. Racers can enter as many events as they want. SCOF will score all racers events. Relays: The NDA Dory races, Rescue Relay and Paddleboard Rescue Relay races are worth double points and will be split evenly amongst two person teams.
Event course maps and rules to be posted at the event site.
PRIZES & AWARDS:
$3,800.00 cash purse towards overall points format and dory races. Special SCOF awards to first, second and third finishers in each event.
